Clinical Mastery – Optimising Oestrogen Metabolism in High-Risk Patients (2 x 60-minute sessions) – 2022

Clinical Mastery – Optimising Oestrogen Metabolism in High-Risk Patients (2 x 60-minute sessions) – 2022

Session 1 Optimising Oestrogen Metabolism in High-Risk Patients

Oestrogen and progesterone are designed to ‘dance’ together in health-sustaining harmony, but we know that for many women this hormonal ‘dance’ can lose its rhythm due to sub-optimal hormone metabolism and result in hormone imbalance.

For female patients with an identified increased risk of hormone-dependant cancers, such as breast, endometrial or ovarian cancer, or other health conditions complicated by oestrogen imbalance such as endometriosis, sub-optimal hormone metabolism can pose a substantial health risk.

As clinicians, we need to be able to identify the hormonal imbalance and genetic abnormalities (e.g. BRCA) that may be contributing to symptomology and risk in these patients, and address these issues with holistic, specific, and strategic protocols to restore health and wellbeing in our female patients.

This 2-part online event will help you identify hormone dysregulation, the specific genetic mutations related to oestrogen metabolism, and how to confidently support your high-risk patients.

During the session Dr Rasouli covers:
• OESTROGEN production, receptors and factors influencing oestrogen balance
• PATHOLOGY TESTS and physical assessment to examine healthy hormone balance
• PATHWAYS of oestrogen metabolism and the influence of genetic functional polymorphisms on healthy oestrogen balance
• BRCA GENETIC MUTATIONS, genetic testing, and the associated impact of inheritance of a BRCA pathological variant
• OPTIMISING oestrogen metabolism, using evidence-based strategies complementary medicines, diet and lifestyle therapies

Session 2 Oestrogen Metabolism: Assessing and Assisting a High-Risk Patient

Integrative Medicine Naturopath Dr Shala Rasouli translates the research highlights and patient management insights from Session 1 Optimising Oestrogen Metabolism in High-Risk Patients into actionable insights that you can effortlessly integrate into your clinical practice. Clinical Naturopath Kate O’Flynn will add her own valuable insights based on her extensive clinical experience supporting women and optimising hormone balance for better health outcomes.

During this session Dr Rasouli shares:
• Her assessment and treatment recommendations for a patient presenting with high-risk oncogenic Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection, with high grade cervical squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL).
You will learn patient management techniques and insights derived from Dr Rasouli’s extensive background in oncology, immunology, and naturopathic practice including the importance of a healthy estrobolome.

This online 75-minute masterclass is a real deidentified case from Dr Rasouli’s clinic and will ensure you return to your clinic with greater confidence treating female patients with hormone dysregulation and an increased risk of carcinogenesis.
