Rebuilding Patients After Cancer Treatment

Rebuilding Patients After Cancer Treatment

Many cancer survivors will experience late and long-term side effects as a result of their treatment and/or their cancer. Natural and integrated medicine practitioners can play an essential role in the recovery and post-treatment of people who have completed cancer treatment.

Most research focuses on what complementary medicines can be used during cancer treatment to minimise treatment side effects, increase treatment efficacy and quality of life. However, more focus is now being directed to post cancer treatment care. Survivorship plans and the discussion of post treatment complications is increasing exponentially as the number of cancer survivors rise.

People feel that they should be back to ‘normal’ as soon as they finish their cancer treatment, but their ‘new normal’ needs our support. It is important to rationalise your treatment approach based on individual patient needs, status, condition, and situation as patient-centred care is paramount.

This 60-minute session will focus on the evidence-based approaches which assist people who have completed cancer treatment by covering the effective physical, emotional, psychological, psychosocial and lifestyle treatment options available for patient-led care and how to implement them.

* The content of Clinical Mastery is intended to provide high level information for healthcare professionals and may not include all relevant information in relation to medications/drug interactions/product ingredients. Specific and tailored advice is required for each patient.

Dr Janet Schloss and Sarah Clarke will translate the research highlights and patient management insights from Session 1 Rebuilding Patients After Cancer Treatment into actionable insights that you can effortlessly integrate into your clinical practice.

This live and online masterclass will draw on a real-life clinical case study to ensure you return to your clinic with greater confidence supporting patients to thrive as they recover and ‘rebuild’ after cancer and cancer treatment.

15 minutes of the session will be dedicated to live Q+A.
