Facilitated by national educator, Isabelle Baissac, the evening will focus on the topic of fertility and probiotics
and provide an understanding of:
• Advances in probiotic research - the human microbiome
• New truths:
• Babies are not born sterile
• Probiotics are transported throughout the body to distal sites
• Breast milk is not sterile
• A focus on infectious lactational mastitis
• Further indications for probiotic use in pregnancy and lactation
• An overview of the impact of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on fertility
