BioCeuticals named Official Nutrition Partner of Tennis Australia

BioCeuticals, Australia’s leading provider of practitioner-only supplements, is pleased to announce its new role as the Official Nutrition Partner of Tennis Australia.

As part of its new relationship, BioCeuticals will provide Australia’s future tennis champions with high quality supplement products and help raise awareness of the benefits of complementary medicines to the sporting community.

BioCeuticals Managing Director Kerry Cunningham said BioCeuticals is proud to be the supplier of choice for the essential nutritional needs of Australia’s up-and-coming talented sport stars.

“For more than 13 years, our practitioner-only supplements have been recognised by qualified healthcare practitioners as well as patients; a fact that reflects our reputation as a credible force in integrative health.

“We’re honoured to work in conjunction with Tennis Australia to supply nutritional and therapeutic products under the guidance and supervision of Tennis Australia’s established qualified healthcare practitioners,” said Ms Cunningham.

BioCeuticals has achieved countless industry firsts, including becoming the first complementary medicine company accepted as a member of Medicines Australia, which represents the Australian pharmaceutical industry.

One of BioCeuticals’ priorities will be to provide continuous education to Tennis Australia’s healthcare practitioners who will be kept up-to-date with the latest information on complementary medicines.

“Education is certainly one of the pillars for delivering expertise on our products, but also in terms of creating awareness for the industry category overall”, said Ms Cunningham.

BioCeuticals will work with Tennis Australia’s nutritionists to provide a range of supplementation to athletes involved with Tennis Australia’s high performance environments. The National Academies offer a comprehensive tennis training program to allow athletes to reach their full potential, with the ultimate vision of producing Grand Slam Champions.

Tennis Australia’s Head Nutritionist Joanna Shinewell said areas of nutritional need may include Gut Health, Immunity, Joint Health, Pain and Inflammation, and Travel Health. Probiotics, magnesium, fish oils, and various vitamins and minerals are amongst the complementary therapies that may be prescribed.

“Tennis is a sport that encompasses travel. The potential negative effects of travel include food restriction which can lead to nutrient deficiency and potential food contamination issues when consuming food in countries where hygiene regulations are not tight. Therefore, supplements can cover any dietary gaps and aid the gut to optimise function,” said Ms Shinewell.

Under Ms Shinewell’s supervision, Tennis Australia’s team of nutritionists will prepare individual treatment regimens using BioCeuticals products to help players overcome nutritional deficiencies, reduce the incidence of cramping, reduce inflammation from injury and improve gut functioning.

Ms Shinewell said she recommends BioCeuticals as it is a reputable, practitioner-only brand with high quality products which are always dispensed with advice from qualified healthcare practitioners.

“Although I practice the concept of food first, I believe these supplements can help our athletes maximise their performance given the difficult barriers our athletes experience. These include travel, hot climate sport and high intensity levels of training.”

Tennis Australia will strictly be provided with BioCeuticals formulas that are permitted to be used by Australian athletes, as governed by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

BioCeuticals has a strong commitment to quality to ensure that its practitioner-only products consistently meet or exceed the requirements set by regulatory bodies such as the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
