Notice of CRITICAL RECALL

On 17 September 2026, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) removed Andrographis paniculata (Andrographis) from the list of ingredients permitted for use in listed medicines in Australia following a review of its safety. This follows a safety review into the potential for severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.

In agreement with the TGA, BioCeuticals is conducting a consumer-level recall of its products containing Andrographis in Australia.  

The health and safety of consumers is our highest priority. Following the TGA’s determination, BioCeuticals immediately ceased supply of the following products, that are subject of this recall:   

The TGA advises that Andrographis may cause rare, serious allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, which is a medical emergency and can be life-threatening. 

Andrographis-related anaphylaxis reactions are unpredictable and can happen the first time someone takes it, or after taking it previously without any issue.

If someone is suspected of having anaphylaxis, call for emergency medical help immediately by dialling ‘000’.
