The Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) for age-related macular degeneration (ARMD)

The Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) is a long-term, longitudinal, multicentre prospective study spanning an average of 6.3 years and involving 4757 participants. It was followed by the AREDS2 study in 2012, which expanded the clinical treatment interventions shown to be beneficial in AREDS.
