The new science of detoxification:

Advanced approaches to phase I, II and III support

Mediation of environmental chemical toxicity is central to integrative medicine due to the propensity of toxins to generate oxidative stress and inflammation, negatively impact neurological health, and alter immune functioning.
Detoxification proceeds in “phases” (phases I, II and III), and over the last decade, developments in research clearly indicate that the phases of detoxification need to be balanced and functioning properly for successful toxin removal.
Understanding how to restore, manage, and augment the body’s natural detoxification systems leads to a holistic detoxification with profound implications to the health of the organism and its resistance to the breakdowns of age. The glutathione system is the most fundamental antioxidant, protein repair, and detoxification system
in the body and is one of the most important instruments for toxin removal.
Full understanding of the management of these systems will get us away from shotgun approaches that separate detoxification and repair and lead us into a true holistic systems management that clears, cleans, and repairs the whole organism.
Join us for a comprehensive detoxification workshop facilitated by Dr Christopher Shade.

The new science of detoxification         Sunday, 15 November 2015
  • understand how toxicity (e.g. from toxic metals, persistent organic pollutants, herbicides, endogenous toxins, etc.) leads to and perpetuates mitochondrial dysfunction
  • understand the overlap between toxicity and immune dysfunction
  • understand how intestinal health can control detoxification
  • examine physical and mental/emotional disturbances that stem from mercury intoxication
  • understand the three phases of detoxification
  • understand the glutathione system and its central importance to health and detoxification, using mercury as a model toxin
  • differentiate the major forms of mercury that humans are exposed to and understand their differences
  • understand the importance of glutathione to immune system health learn a model for toxin elimination that comprehensively addresses the three phases of detoxification
  • learn how to use plant compounds to restore your natural detoxification system.

Competency standards (2010) addressed: 6.1, 6.2, 7.1.
