BioCeuticals Seminar Series with Professor Dominic D’Agostino
Professor Dominic D’Agostino focuses on nutritional ketosis (NK) research and how we can harness this physiological state to improve neurological health, biomarkers of metabolic health and stress resilience. The presentation emphasises how NK alters
metabolic physiology and how ketones, beta hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate, influence cellular bioenergetics and confer protection through specific signaling pathways associated with neuroprotective function, suppression of inflammation and targeting
cancer metabolism.
The seminar will be filmed at ABC studios in Sydney. All registered attendees will get access to this session recording post event.
BUNDLE DEAL
Attend any two of our National Seminars (Pyrroles, Histamine and Methylation, Holistic Children’s Health with Dr Elisa Song or the Science of Ketogenesis with A/Prof Dominic D’Agostino) and the 3rd is FREE.
To take advantage of the bundle deal please register via the Pyrroles, Histsmine and Methylation registration page: https://www.bioceuticals.com.au/education/event/Pyrroles-Histamine-and-Methylation-Melbourne

KetoNutrition: From Science to Emerging Applications in Neurological Diseases
- Explain emerging understanding of our brain’s capacity for metabolic flexibility
- Discuss how acute and chronic adaptations can aid in management certain brain disorders, cognitive function and resilience
- Examine recent research that has focused on understanding and exploiting the benefits of nutritional ketosis to improve body composition and how this impacts brain health
- Review published neuroscience studies implementing therapeutic ketosis in pre-clinical animal model systems and an overview of current human clinical trials
- Outline implementation approaches for nutritional ketosis, including the most important biomarkers to measure and track over time
Emerging Application of Nutritional Ketosis for Metabolic-Based Diseases and Cancer
- Explain how dietary manipulation associated with proper implementation of nutritional ketosis changes metabolic physiology, metabolic biomarkers and hormones
- Identify where the weak links are in cancer energy metabolism and growth
- Review published cancer studies implementing therapeutic ketosis in pre-clinical animal model systems and an overview of current human clinical trials
- Discuss current research and future strategies for cancer therapy using the “Press Pulse” protocol that combines nutritional ketosis with other therapeutic modalities
