Vitamin C and the common cold

The CHC today have filed a media release on the recent Cochrane review1 of thirty studies using at least 200 mg per day of vitamin C for the prevention and treatment of the common cold.

The Cochrane review has confirmed that indeed vitamin C is safe and is statistically significant in reducing the duration of colds however few studies were reviewed using doses of higher than 1gram per day.
